SAC Youth Ministry
The St. Ambrose Cathedral Youth Ministry group is active throughout the year. Youth are invited to join activities as they are able. Activities are funded by donations and fundraising throughout the year. Students raise money by working concessions at Drake stadium and cleaning Principal Park after games. They also collect empty bottles and cans the last weekend of each month in the Cathedral parking lot. See below for upcoming dates.
Because of generous donations and fundraising, St. Ambrose is able to send youth to events such as Catholic Youth Camp (CYC), National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) and World Youth Day (WYD). Drake University Cleanings
(takes 30 to 45 minutes)

Youth 2000 Retreat!
Youth 2000 is a retreat for middle school and high school students to draw them to a deep and lasting union with Jesus Christ.
St. Ambrose Confirmation students will be required to attend this year.
Any other St. Ambrose youth (ages 13-18) – You are encouraged to attend as well!
Let your Faith Formation Catechist (Becky, Amy, or Catherine) know if you’d like to attend! Or fill out the registration form and turn it into your Catechist with $60 registration fee. If you need financial help, please let us know!
Summer 2025
Catholic Youth Camp Registrations
All youth who will be in grades 3 through 12 this fall, are invited to attend CYC this summer!
CYC is located in Panora, IA and is a great chance for youth to grow in their faith!
St. Ambrose was able to send around 100 youth last summer and we hope to send more this summer. Anyone who is interested, please contact the parish office at 515-288-7411 or Catherine at cswoboda16@gmail.com.

St. Ambrose Children’s Choir
Children in 3rd-5th grade are invited to sing in the St. Ambrose Children’s Choir! The choir meets every Saturday from 5:15-6:15pm in the church and sings once a month at one of the weekend Masses. If you have any questions, please contact Maggie Parker at magdalene.parker@gmail.com.
Last Weekend of the Month
Donate Your Empty Cans & Bottles for Youth Ministry!
Bring your empty bottles and cans to the St. Ambrose parking lot before or after the weekend Masses and we will recycle them. The deposit proceeds from these recycling efforts will go towards our youth programming.
